Schedules and prepares both internal and external customer outage requests on the Pepco Distribution Electric System. Must possess good communication and organizational skills as well ability to read and understand street maps and electrical circuit diagrams. Ability to use multiple computer programs like OMS, GIS, Clearance Database as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel. Must be willing to support Control Room Operations during storm/emergency conditions on off shifts in a Second Role capacity.
4 years’ job related experience to include:
Experience demonstrating skill answering multiple phone lines, responding to customer needs, and taking thorough messages in a polite, courteous manner;
Experience demonstrating skill reading various maps, plats, diagrams, and other engineering related data sufficient to develop distribution clearances;
Basic knowledge of electric distribution systems (e.g., components).
•Experience demonstrating skill handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Experience demonstrating skill scheduling and organizing work.
•Experience demonstrating skill following detailed instructions.
•Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, e-mail and spreadsheet software (e.g., Word, Lotus Notes and Excel).
•Experience demonstrating effective written communication skills sufficient to proofread and edit memos/letters using appropriate business English and grammar.
•Experience demonstrating skill performing mathematical computations (i.e., adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, sufficient to use formulas involving fractions, decimals and percentages).
•Ability and willingness to work under stressful conditions.
•Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard shifts during emergencies.
•Ability and willingness to travel to various company locations and job sites.
•Must possess a valid jurisdictional driver’s license.
•Must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check.
Project Management, Engineering, or Operations experience.
Working knowledge of the distribution system and related substation equipment (4kV & 13kV; OH, UG, & LVAC Networks)
