We currently have a great assignment for a Mechanical Designer / Engineer with one of our premier clients. As a Mechanical Designer / Engineer, you will be supporting our client, a full-service mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm serving the Mid-Atlantic region. 


 


Job Responsibilities:


The Mechanical Designer / Engineer will be responsible for engineering and design for new building construction, building systems evaluations, tenant renovations, upgrades to existing systems for code compliance, and design/management for various retail, telecom, and multi-family housing projects.

 

Performing site surveys to document existing field conditions.

Performing HVAC load calculations and equipment selections.

Performing ventilation calculations.

Preparing CADD drawings for mechanical and plumbing system designs using AutoCAD.

Coordinating project design requirements with client representatives and design team members.

Performing construction administration services including responding to contractor RFI’s, shop drawing reviews, construction site visits and punch-outs.



Job Requirements:


Specific qualifications for the Mechanical Designer / Engineer role include:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.  Will accept Associate’s degree with additional experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

2-5 years of experience required.

Current status as an EIT (Engineer-In-Training) preferred.

Proficiency in AutoCAD a must. 

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Prior experience creating permit and field drawings required.

Capable of working independently.

Successful at multi-tasking and able to manage 2-3 short-term projects simultaneously.
