Design Engineer/Team Leader—Building Automation Control Systems

The company designs, builds, commissions, and validates building automation solutions.  They are seeking an experienced BAS Design Engineer to join the engineering team as a Team Leader for the MD/PA district. While design is the primary focus, BAS programming experience is a plus. 

The Design Engineer/Team Leader will develop drawing packages for new projects as well as compiling close out documents including as-built drawings. Other responsibilities will include supporting 3-4 district engineers, coaching, mentoring and supervising work. Five or more years experience with engineering drawing tools such as AutoCAD or Visio required.

Compensation commensurate with experience, starting at $90,000, plus bonus. 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field of study with a minimum of 5-7 years of related Controls & HVAC experience; or Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in HVAC, AAS, or BAS with a minimum of 5-6 years related Controls & HVAC experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have superior knowledge of HVAC Control systems and applications.
  • Must have experience designing building automation controls systems.
  • Must have excellent communication and people management skills
  • Must have a proven track record of leading, developing and coaching employees.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service projects required.
  • Proficient computer skills are required (Microsoft Office)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to:
    • DUI in the previous 5 years
    • Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless / Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
