Fire Alarm and Life Safety Testing Technician

The Fire Alarm Testing Technician will be responsible for performing required preventative maintenance and testing on a wide variety of fire alarm systems. Fire Alarm Testing Technician will test 120Volt fire alarm systems, conventional fire alarm systems, addressable fire alarm systems, and voice evacuation systems. The Fire Alarm Testing Technician will use their experience and working knowledge of required fire alarm systems in both low rise buildings, as well as high rise buildings in order to test systems in commercial buildings, residential high rise and low rise multifamily buildings, hotels, daycare facilities, hospitals and mercantile buildings. Working knowledge of the different types of Use Groups as identified in the International Building Code, working knowledge of the International Fire Code and the requirements set forth for the maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems and knowledge of NFPA 72 is a plus. The Fire Alarm Testing Technician will also focus on becoming fluent in identifying code issues and non-conformance issues. The Fire Alarm Testing Technician will be responsible for communicating and providing findings to customers in a manner that is understood by the customer and communicating and relaying information to office personnel in regards to completion of work, and/or required follow up and recommendations.

4) Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines

5) Ability to operate a wide variety of office equipment

6) Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

7) Experience in the testing of specialized systems such as Preaction systems, Halon systems and other Clean Agent systems is preferred

8) Understanding of the functions and differences between notification devices and initiating devices and their purpose highly preferred

9) Must be able to drive a vehicle for company business on a daily 

Basic Qualifications:

1) High school diploma or equivalent is required

2) 2-4 years of experience in Fire Alarm or Life Safety Industry preferred
