Innovation Energy is looking for a knowledgeable and talented Energy Efficiency Sales Representative to join our team of sales professionals! Innovation Energy is the latest venture of Engineered Services, Inc. (ESI) founded in 1972, and headquartered in Sterling, VA. We focus on energy efficiency retrofits and renewable energy including LED lighting, smart outlets, building analytics, variable frequency drives (VFDs), electric vehicle charging stations, and solar power installation. ESI is a privately owned and operated business with over 70 employees servicing the Washington, DC metro area and southern Virginia.

Energy Efficiency Sales Representative

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares project proposals for system improvement recommendations; develops a technical description of the work, material selections, system layout, probable energy savings to include calculating return on investment (ROI) and payback periods, pricing, coordination with subcontractors for installation costs, and timeline of expected construction
  • Develops technical scope of work documents for existing building owners, property developers, and plan and spec new construction
  • Reviews all subcontractor proposals for technical accuracy, constructability, and completeness
  • Conducts site visits to evaluate existing conditions, energy conservation measures, and existing lighting to determine potential technical scope and feasibility
  • Performs energy evaluations of equipment, systems, and building components and maintains current knowledge of, and use trends in, energy utilization and conservation efforts
  • Attends industry trade events for social exposure, training, and involvement in the business community
  • Prospects new clients and follows up on leads
  • Strong emphasis on teamwork in a setting where everyone helps each other get to the finish line. Encouraging and helpful attitude in a teaming environment, yet still comfortable to work solo and away from the office

 

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Business, or Environmental Science (or related sustainability or efficiency degree) strongly preferred
  • LEED, CEM, or other green building or energy management certifications preferred
  • Qualified candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metro area
  • Knowledge of lighting systems in commercial and institutional buildings preferred
  • Building industry experience a plus
  • Must be confident to operate independently with building owners and industry professionals
  • Ability to contribute to a positive team environment and strive to reach team goals
