We currently have great assignments for Construction Project Managers (Facilities) with some of our top clients.  As a Construction Project Manager (Facilities), you will be supporting our client, a well-established commercial firm with locations in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities

As a Construction Project Manager (Facilities), you will be supporting our client, a well-established commercial firm with locations in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. The Construction Project Manager (Facilities) will manage both the planned and unplanned/emergency construction projects within the Asset Management Department ranging from small repairs to comprehensive renovations. The Construction Project Manager (Facilities) will be responsible for delivering assigned projects within budget, on-time and in a manner consistent with our client's quality expectations. The Construction Project Manager (Facilities) will perform quality control inspections and general facility evaluations. The Construction Project Manager (Facilities) will gain exposure to preventive maintenance, testing and inspection programs and the construction process:

  • Communicating with vendors and contractors in person, by telephone and through the use of email
  • Soliciting project interest and pricing from vendors, including cold calling vendors
  • Assisting in developing project budgets, work scopes, and contracts from templates
  • Quality control- identifying, reporting, tracking and closing out project deficiencies
  • Performing on-going building and site evaluations for portfolio assessment
  • Taking photographs and video to document project inspections and site evaluations
  • Updating schedules
  • Performing cost control and change order management
  • Assisting with the development of annual budgets
  • Working in an efficient manner that assists in streamlining the department and enhancing the availability of building and site data
  • Completing tasks related to departmental initiatives

Specific qualifications for the Construction Project Manager (Facilities) role include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Property Management
  • Minimum of two years of experience in construction management, testing and inspections, or related field
  • Ability to read and understand building and site plans with experience performing quantity take offs with architectural and engineering scales
  • Basic budgeting and cost control skills with an understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to seek continuous process improvement
  • Relates well to a diverse group of personalities, both inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to succeed within a small team
  • Organized and results & detail-oriented
  • Ability to work efficiently and coordinate tasks with travel schedule (all travel is local)
  • Must have valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Position will require some lifting and carrying, bending and climbing including stairs, step stools, ladders, etc., and exposure to seasonal weather conditions
