Joseph J. Magnolia’s (JJM) new construction division is looking for a BIM Manager.  This position is based out of our Laurel, Maryland office.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead/develop our BIM team on multi-million dollar construction projects, with a focus on Mechanical and Plumbing (MEP).  The role requires experience Drawing/Designing/Coordinating on a large variety of new construction projects based on information derived from MEP construction drawings.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the desire to continue to move our team into the BIM future.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise
  • Develop BIM Management capabilities in other BIM coordinators
  • Proactive leadership with BIM team
  • Effectively communicate with immediate team members, General Contractors, specialty subcontractors, project managers, executives, and partners
  • Preparing documents, reports and presentations
  • Collaboration with Pre-Fabrication department for timely delivery
  • Standardize project file sharing and maintenance
  • In depth working knowledge Revit/Navisworks and AutoCad current release
  • Read and interpret project specifications and submittals


  • Experience in the plumbing/mechanical/construction
  • 3+ years leading a team
  • 5+ years’ CAD/REVIT MEP experience
  • 5+ years’ job site experience-preferred
  • Navisworks experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience educating staff on BIM standards and requirements
  • Experience in 3D design and coordination
  • Experience with GoTo meetings
  • Experience managing contract labor
